About Me

Hello, My name is Willow Jade and I am an artist based in Richmond, Virginia. I graduated from VCU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and printmaking. I have a studio at Art Works and love being a part of this art community here in Richmond. I have presented several solo art shows & my medium of choice is acrylic on canvas or wood. My motivation and goal as an artist is to use art as a visual diary about spiritual concepts, societal issues, social justice, and mental health. Through my art, I strive to evoke emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, and peace. 

 

Personally, I love traveling and adventure. When working for Carnival Cruise lines I was able to travel to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Italy, The Mexican Riviera,  The Caribbean, to name a few.  Living in England for four years also gave me the opportunity to travel around Europe. My favorite memory was seeing Venus in a gondola! My next travel goal would be a trip to India. I love children and have been a teacher in the early childhood field where my commitment has always been to provide daily art experiences in the classroom for them to them process, and a means to express their thoughts and interests. My Wife and I both have a love for nature and go on camping trips all around Virginia.
